In Newfoundland and Labrador, the Lemon Queen Sunflower serves as a beautiful local representation. This particular variety of sunflower produces abundant, pale yellow, multi-headed blooms. It's a popular choice for gardeners in Newfoundland due to its cheerful appearance and ability to thrive in full sun, attracting pollinators.  Some species of Sunflower are native to Eastern North America and Newfoundland, but cultivation has made the Lemon Queen shown here more hardy and resistant than the "False Sunflower" which can grow in our climate.
